If
you have ever dreamed of learning how to fly, this is
your first step in making that dream a reality. Achieving
your Private Pilot License is a great way to enjoy the
freedom of flight either recreationally or as a first
step towards a career as a Commercial Pilot.
Your training will consist of two parts; flight training
and ground instruction.
During the ground instruction phase you will learn the
academic knowledge required to be a proficient pilot.
You have several options for ground training, but the
goal is to successfully complete your aviation written
test
The required experience required from a private pilot
applicant is a minimum of 40 hours of flight training
including a minimum 20 hours dual instruction and 10
hours solo flight time.

You must be at least 16 for a student certificate
and 17 for a private pilot certificate. There is no
maximum age limit.

You must be able to read, speak, and understand
English.

You must be able to obtain a FAA Third Class Medical
certificate

Pass the FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Test with
a minimum score of 70%
